2012 Ironman 70.3 Series Race Map

The 2012 Ironman 70.3 Series will consist of 58 triathlon races and the Ironman World Championship 70.3 race in Henderson, Nevada in September. Over half of the races, 32 will take place in North America alone. The total number of races is up from last year's roughly 50 races in the series. The WTC added 6 new races to the 2012 Ironman 70.3 schedule, swapped one (Cancun to Cozumel) and separated Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie from Ironman Australia. Two races in Asia from the Ironman 70.3 Series are currently not on the 2012 schedule, China and Korea.

• Ironman 70.3 Sri Lanka (February 19, 2012)
• Ironman 70.3 Panama (February 12, 2012)
• Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun (August 26, 2012)
• Ironman 70.3 Mont-Tremblant (June 24, 2012)
• Ironman 70.3 Lanzarote (November 10, 2012)
• Ironman 70.3 Haugesund (July 8, 2012)
• Ironman 70.3 National Harbor (August 5, 2012) (Annouced Janurary 17, 2012) (Cancelled May 5, 2012)
• Ironman 70.3 Cairns (June 3, 2012) (Annouced April 10, 2012)

2012 Ironman 70.3 Changes:

• Ironman 70.3 Florida venue change due to renovations at Walt Disney World Resort, race moved to Lake Eva Park near Haines City
• Ironman 70.3 Cozumel will replace Ironman 70.3 Cancun staring in 2012
• Ironman 70.3 China & Ironman 70.3 Korea removed from the 2012 schedule
• Ironman 70.3 Philippines has a new venue, it will now take place in Cebu City
• Ironman 70.3 Syracuse event moves from September to June
• Ironman 70.3 Lake Stevens moves up a month in 2012, from August to July
• Ironman 70.3 Port Macquarie which took place in conjunction with Ironman Australia will now have it's own stand-alone event in October

All of the 2012 qualifying races will have slots for the Foster Grant Ironman World Championship 70.3 race in Henderson, Nevada on September 9, 2012.

An Ironman 70.3 triathlon race consists of a 1.2 mile Swim, 56 mile Bike and 13.1 mile Run or a 1.9km Swim, 90km Bike and 21.1km Run..
